Finally. NYLON commissioned me to rank Parker Posey’s most iconic roles. As Frank Herbert writes when Paul first encounters Chani in Dune, “it was like the touch of destiny.” You can read it here.
Of course, if you’re a Scream 3 girlie, I hope you’ll read my recent piece on the evolution of the Scream films. And for more Parker Posey content, revisit my Scorpio roundup.
I am very grateful to be a cafe girl in a foreign land, which inspired me this week to write about the archetype of the diner waitress. Let me know who I missed in my ranking.
Though I’m on my feet during the day, I’m still offering readings by night (which is your morning if you’re in the US). Tarot and astrology, now offered at stunning summer rates. Book one now!
I just want to say one more thing. After reading a painfully self-righteous new book on the wellness industrial complex, and after experiencing the profound violation of the new Doctor Strange movie, I’ve made a decision. I’m sick of sitting through mediocre art, aware that I could do it better, and bitter at the world for not giving me a chance. I want to write books and comic books and superhero movies and articles and essays and I want to perform and keep reading astrology and tarot. I want to make all my dreams come true. To quote Kristen Wiig, in her excellent performance in Wonder Woman 1984: “I want to be the apex predator.” So I’m grateful for your support and attention, and hope we can collaborate together as the ride expands.
More to come, including thoughts on antisemitism. For now, Shabbat Shalom from Tel Aviv. Mercury Retrograde is over. Anything is possible.
Ever,
David Odyssey
